We’ve been there. The nice weather gets you excited to get out and get active, and then you get hurt. This wonderful season sees many a sports-related injury (think: football, basketball, running, etc.), a good chunk of the seven million reported year round. But thanks to the Baptist Health Saturday Sports Clinic at OrthoArkansas, you don’t have to wait to get help.
As the name suggests, the walk-in clinic is open on Saturdays from 9-11 a.m. through Nov. 19 for those in need of orthopedic care. The most common injuries treated include sprained ankles, hip flexor and groin strains, shoulder injuries, shin splints, pulled muscles and lower back pain.
Although the clinic is built around football season, it’s open to anyone with an orthopedic injury, not just athletes. The best part? Patients don’t have to worry about making appointments or acquiring a physician’s referral before seeing a specialist.
Obviously, one would hope not to require these services. When you do, however, this weekend lifesaver will help you make the next mile, the next down, the next tailgate as the picture of health.
