Rejoice, bacon lovers. You’re about to get all your crispy, greasy, delicious wishes granted by the breakfast gods. The third annual Rock Town Bacon Throwdown will grace us with its presence at War Memorial Stadium this Saturday, Oct. 24, from 1-4 p.m.
The throwdown is hosted by the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary with proceeds from the event benefitting the UAMS Patient Support Fund, supporting things like the UAMS pet therapy program and resource assistance for long-term patients and their families.
Competing for your bacon loyalties are some of the area’s best chefs, who will be evaluated by a panel of judges. Meet your combatants:
- Joseph Salgueno of 1620 Savoy
- Brian Townley of Cache Restaurant
- Pearl Rodgers of Ristorante Capeo
- Ray Delosreyes of Roxx Club
- Casey Copeland of SO Restaurant
- Jeffrey Moore of Terry’s Finer Foods
- Jeffrey Owen of Ciao Baci
- Roddy Crawford of Damgoode Pies
- Chris McMillan of Boulevard Bread Company
- Katie Proffer of Blue Cake Company
- Brian Yeary of Ya Ya’s Euro Bistro
- Scott Rains of Table 28 – last year’s winner
The day will also include family-friendly games and activities, as well as live music from Arkansas natives Jessica Mack and Jake Dell.
Tickets are $25 online or $30 at the gate, and include a sample of each dish, drinks and a vote for the People’s Choice Award. To purchase tickets, click here.
