Here in the South, bonding over cornbread is a tradition.
That’s why we’re so excited about the third annual Arkansas Cornbread Festival happening 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 2) on the 13th-16th blocks of South Main Street in Little Rock.
This year, more than two dozen professional and amateur competitors have signed up to show off their best cornbread recipes and we are more than happy to partake in this bread-breaking event. To view the complete list of entries, click here.
Cornbread and side dish entries are judged by everyone attending the festival, as well as a panel of celebrity judges. Prizes range from $250 for the best side dish to $1,000 for the overall winner.
Along South Main Street, vendors will display and sell Arkansas art, handmade crafts, clothes, jewelry, home furnishings, locally produced food and gifts. There will also be live music and a kids play area available throughout the day.
Tickets can be purchased by clicking here. For additonal information on the event, call Cindy Hedges at (501) 663-4181 or visit www.arkansascornbreadfestival.com.
