Hosted by the Thea Foundation, the fifth installment of The Art Department will feature artist Jon Shannon Rogers and musician Bonnie Montgomery with a reception on Friday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
The exhibit is titled “Space is the Place” and will showcase some of the work Rogers is known for: “dreamy interpretations of everyday scenes familiar to Little Rock residents.”
Named one of “Oxford American’s” Top 100 Under 100: New Superstars of Southern Art, Rogers earned his MFA from New York Studio School and BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He also served as an adjunct professor for both Hendrix College and Henderson State University.
Arkansas native Bonnie Montgomery’s music is finding new fans across the country every day. For more information on Bonnie, check out her website.
The Nov. 7 reception is $10, which includes food, an open bar, music and a chance to win a Jon Shannon Rogers original.
The Thea Foundation gallery’s hours are 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 – 5 p.m. on Monday – Friday. For more information, call (501)-379-9512 or email stacey@theafoundation.org, or visit the Facebook event page.
