Assembly Required: Hack into Your Inner Kehinde Wiley at the Alice Pratt Brown Atrium and Galleries in the Arkansas Arts Center, Little Rock: This late night portion to the “30 Americans” exhibit offers a “highly interactive, subversive, fun, non-traditional” museum experience for guests 21 and older. You’ll enjoy drinks, music, dancing and a little art-making of your own, while you get inspired by the modern-day masterpieces around you. 2nd Friday Art Night at the Historic Arkansas Museum, Little Rock: It’s time to get your monthly #2FAN on. This week’s event celebrates the opening of exhibits from Conway artist Heather Condren and Little Rock artist Miranda Young along to the sweet sounds of Handmade Moments. Table for Two: Cooking Series with Chef Robert Hall at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, Morrilton:There’s a reason these events were in such high demand last year. The class offers an overnight mountain getaway in addition to a culinary date night. Grand Opening at Ryde Revolution, Little Rock: Is it possible for your thighs to hurt just from thinking about exercise? We think yes. The brand new indoor cycling studio opening out west, and we can already feel our hammies whimpering. “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” at Ron Robinson Theater, Little Rock: Oh, Wayne Szalinski. When will you ever learn? The goodhearted genius just can’t seem to win, and this time his troubles get even bigger… er, smaller. Chaos ensues when the Szalinski kids and their friends are accidentally shrunk to a fourth of an inch, fighting the dangers of lawn mowers and breakfast cereals in their plight to regain their height. Arkansas Statehood Anniversary Celebrations at the Old State House and Historic Arkansas Museums, Little Rock: The Natural State is turning 179 and we sure do love birthdays. This year, festivities kick off on the Old State House front lawn with music from Bonnie Montgomery and Geoff Robson on Friday from 5-8 p.m. B-Y-O-lawn chairs. August: Osage County at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Little Rock: Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards, Pulitzers, the list goes on. No one can stop talking about this show, and that includes us.Click here to read our review about The Rep’s final production of the 2014-15 season. The theater’s portrayal of the deeply disfunctional (but brutally funny) Weston family will stick with you long after the standing ovation you will undoubtedly give.
