The hills are alive with one of the most iconic musical productions of all time, and thanks to two local arts institutions, you have your choice of venues in which to experience it.
“The Sound of Music” opens this week as a joint production between the Argenta Community Theater and Wildwood Park for the Arts, and will take each stage for various dates throughout the month.
The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic is based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp and tells the story of how she and the von Trapp family found joy even amid the growing threat of Nazis in 1930s Austria. The beloved show has won multiple Tonys and Oscars, and features songs like “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and of course, “The Sound of Music.”
ACT performances will take place Nov. 3-13. Masks and proof of vaccination are required. Kids younger than 12 are permitted to attend, but must wear a mask.
Shows at Wildwood Park for the Arts will be held in The Cabe Theatre Nov. 18-21. Masks are required inside the theater.
Some performances are already sold out, so you’ll want to move quickly. Get info on ACT shows here and on Wildwood shows here.
