Looking for a little comedy in your life?
Get ready because “The Second City’s Happily Ever Laughter Tour” is coming to The Rep this week.
The traveling comedy tour will do 14 shows in 10 nights, which will start Wednesday (April 30) and run through May 10.
“The Second City” draws on classic material from its history of comedy and creates scenes from everyday-headlines to bring laughs to the audience.
The comedy program, which first opened its doors in Chicago in 1959, is the old stomping grounds of many of today’s great comedians, including Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Amy Poehler, Steve Carell, Bill Murray, Keegan Michael Key and current Saturday Night Live stars Cecily Strong, Tim Robinson and Jason Sudeikis.
- Distinguished Lecture Series, Clinton School of Public Service, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock: From noon-1 p.m. on Tuesday (April 29), The Rep Artistic Director Bob Hupp will host the hilarious cast of “The Second City’s Happily Ever Laughter Tour” to discuss the art of improv comedy. - Girls Night Out with Fringe Clothing, The Rep, 601 Main St., Little Rock: Get your girls together for Girls Night Out at The Rep in Foster’s Lounge Wednesday (April 30). Sip champagne, enjoy sweet treats and browse the fun fashions of FRINGE Clothing, 112 River Market Ave., Little Rock. Jewelry, scarves, sunglasses and other accessories will be available for purchase in Foster’s Lounge from the store! Sip on a cold brew, provided by Golden Eagle, feast on a slice or two of pizza and enjoy lots of laughs with “The Second City’s Happily Ever Laughter Tour” on Thursday (May 1). - Singles Mix and Mingle, The Rep: Singles, it’s time to mix and mingle in Foster’s Lounge at The Rep before you enjoy a night of hilarity with the cast of “The Second City.” Mixer starts at 6 p.m., while the show will get started at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7.
- Cidre Night with Stella Artois, The Rep: On Thursday, May 8, Stella Artois’ new Cidre will be available for purchase in Foster’s Lounge. Join The Arkansas Times and Golden Eagle before the show to toast Stella Artois’ Cidre debut! From 6-7 p.m., catch a live acoustical performance in Foster’s featuring Steve Davison and Micky Rigby’s band Finger Food. The show will get started at 7 p.m.
