The Green Corner Store Turns 8

Birthday parties are always a “yes” in our book, especially when they mean celebrating some of our favorite local establishments. That means we’re pulling out the confetti cannons for The Green Corner Store, which marks eight whole years of business on Saturday, July 8.

The SoMa staple will commemorate the occasion with a day of tastings, discounts, giveaways and, of course, birthday cake. Guests can sip drinks from Pink House Alchemy, enjoy eats from Crave, meet the designer behind made. jewelry and more.

In 2009, The Green Corner Store opened with a goal “to help people care for themselves, their families and homes in ways that are healthy, safe and creative.” Since then, the eco-lifestyle shop has been a hub for locally-made items for sustainability-minded shoppers.

The eighth birthday celebration will go down between 12-4 p.m. Check the Facebook event page for details.

The Green Corner Store is located at 1423 Main, and regular hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Learn more at the shop’s website and by following along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
