The February Edit: 4 Things to Love About Little Rock This Month

This is the part where we break out the heart-eye emojis. If we could send a giant valentine to the city of Little Rock, we would do it in a heartbeat. Instead, we’re spreading the LR love all month long. Here are some of our favorite February happenings.

1. Sweet Tooth Season

From delectable bites a la Cocoa Belle Chocolates to scrumptious pie sampler packs from Blue Cake Co., we see no reason to limit yourself to one flavor. Enjoy this dessert-laden month with local sweets. Your yoga mat will still be there when it’s over.

2. Black History Month

February certainly isn’t the only time to discuss Black history and civil rights, but it’s a great opportunity to explore special programming through organizations like the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center and the Central Arkansas Library System.

We also suggest checking out the free Arkansas Civil Rights History Audio Tour (download it at littlerock.com/tours) and the 7th Street Mural Project.

3. Winter Hikes

Forget hibernating. Take advantage of the last full month of the season, get outside and get your fill of crisp air. We particularly love the wide open spaces at Two Rivers (above) and the view of downtown from Knoop Park (top) this time of year.

4. Valentine’s in Place

Gee, another holiday that will “look a little different this year.” Lucky for lovebirds, local restaurants are saving the day once again with take-home Valentine’s Day feasts. We have our heart set on the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake from Petit & Keet.
