Maybe the excitement of the new year has started to wear off, but I’m more interested in what 2020 holds than its shine factor. We’re fully into February, folks. Here’s how to make the best of it in the city.
Take In the Finer Arts
Some of the state’s most revered arts institutions are ready to hit the ground running this month. There’s Ballet Arkansas’ classic comedy “Cinderella” Feb. 21-23, the hysterical and historical “Ann” at The Rep through Feb. 23 and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s “Giants of Broadway” Feb. 8-9.
Fill Up on New Eats
No list of Little Rock to-do’s is complete without good food. The latest to hit the restaurant scene are The Library Kitchen + Lounge in the River Market, Newfangled Love Kitchen in Park Hill and Fidel & Co. in East Village. And don’t forget the new digs for Nexus Coffee & Creative downtown and Mugs Cafe in The Heights.
#ShopLocal
Traditionally, February is when winter apparel and home goods go on sale, so do yourself a favor and stock up now at your favorite neighborhood shops. Bonus: Keep an eye out for Presidents’ Day specials on Feb. 17.
Get Hands-On
So maybe the whole “new year, new you” thing isn’t your jam (*raises hand*), but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a fresh skillset with crafty classes DIY-ing plant hangers at Stifft Station Gifts, macrame earrings at Bella Vita Jewelry or screen printing at The Innovation Hub.
