Birch Tree Communities is a nonprofit, behavioral health program providing care and supportive housing for adults living with serious and persistent mental illness. Since its founding in 1989, Birch Tree Communities has served more than 3,000 adults living with serious mental illness, helping many transition to a more independent and satisfying life in the community.
Birch Tree Communities operates in 12 branches across the state and provides a full continuum of care through a range of clinical, rehabilitative and life enrichment services. This includes rehabilitative day treatment, supportive housing, medication management, transportation, expressive arts and individual and group therapy. These services enable members to re-enter the community with new skills and offer hope for greater satisfaction with the quality of their lives.
The mission of Birch Tree Communities is a satisfying life in the community. Members play a defining role in what a satisfying life is to them, and the staff supports and guides them in their journey to mental health recovery and independent living. For every person living with mental illness, there is a real expectation of mental health recovery.
