You probably just read this title and thought, “Milford Track, what and where is that?” You wouldn’t be alone. Located in a typical, five-story office building off Executive Center Drive in West Little Rock, Milford Track is one of Little Rock’s greatest hidden gems.
It’s really just a deli, and from a quick glance, it looks like any one of the thousands of office building delis throughout the country. But does your “typical” office building deli serve seven different, handmade pasta flavors, coupled with a choice of nine various sauces?
And no, you’re not seeing things. Seven pasta flavors! Nine sauces!
Here are your pasta choices: cilantro, black olive, lemon pepper, rosemary basil, chili, cous-cous and spinach. And the sauces: basil pesto, low fat Alfredo, black bean chili, marinara, tomato pesto, Parmesan parsley, pepper garlic, cilantro pesto and Raphael.
Pictured above is the delicious spinach pasta and pepper garlic sauce combination with roasted vegetables ($8.50). You’ll find that while the thick-cut, fettucini-style pasta is a beautiful vibrant green, it doesn’t impart a strong spinach taste. The tender pasta, however, is an ideal canvas for the light Alfredo sauce and spicy red pepper flakes. For only $7, you can order the pasta and sauce, sans roasted vegetables … but this would be a huge mistake. The inclusion of the perfectly cooked vegetable medley of asparagus, squash, celery, mushrooms, red cabbage, onions, green beans, snow peas and carrots, is absolutely essential. This is a large portion of pasta and vegetables, so expect plenty of leftovers for dinner.
Milford Track has both indoor and outdoor seating, the latter of which provides a wonderful setting on a pleasant afternoon. It should be noted that lunches tend to run a bit long, especially if you’re ordering the pasta.
Greatness takes a little extra time.
