“The happiest 5K is staying up late.”
That’s the attention grabbing tagline for the messiest, glow-in-the-darkiest 5K, The Color Run Night — and it’s coming to Little Rock’s Western Hills Park on Satuday, Oct. 15.
When the race kicks off at 6:30 p.m., things will get all kinds of glow-tastic with black lights, glow sticks and brightly-colored powder with which the trademark mess is made. Plus, there’s a big festival at the finish line that includes music, dancing and even more illuminated fun.
Registration is open now and the basic package comes with a T-shirt, stickers, color powder and a headlamp to light the way. If you bump it up to the deluxe kit, you also get glow sticks, socks and a light-up bracelet.
The announcement of The Color Run Night is a little bittersweet, however. The bad news is that this race will take the place of the annual Mud Run on account of lack of interest and participation. The good news is that, although it’s messy, it is less messy than the mud pits.
