We’re only a few days away from the 2015 Little Rock Marathon, people. This is the weekend that brings in thousands of runners and even more family, friends and general cheerleaders. It’s a big show to run and it takes all hands on deck to make it happen. Without the time and talent of 3,500+ volunteers, the race just wouldn’t happen.
Even if you’re not strapping on the cross-trainers, you can still get involved with race weekend. There are a ton of opportunities for you to fill in and take part in one of Arkansas’s biggest events.
Race organizers are seeking:
Registration volunteers. They help during the Little Rock Marathon Health and Fitness Expo before the race. They’re in charge of setting up tables and distribute race packets, t-shirts, posters and gear bags to participants.
Start line volunteers. These folks are crucial. Not only do they help with crowd control in the start corrals, they also help with setup.
Gear check volunteers. They assist athletes by checking in their gear check bags on race morning.
Aid station and finish line volunteers. There’s still lots of openings for people to man these stations.
Volunteers are rewarded with a killer after-party in the River Market, which race organizers close for a pirate-themed celebration.
The big day is Sunday, March 1, but the festivities start the Wednesday before. Join the fun and register to volunteer here.
