We’ve seen the videos from all over the world — and more recently in the U.S. People on their porches, balconies and yards clapping and cheering and thanking health care workers at shift changes to show their appreciation for all that they’re doing to keep us healthy.
Now it’s Little Rock’s turn. Central Arkansans are encouraged to take part in a social challenge called #SolidarityAt8. At 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, March 27, you’re encouraged to open your windows or go to your porch and make noise – whether it’s applauding, singing, banging on pots and pans or flickering your lights – to show support for our region’s health care workers.
“Many folks have been told to stay home right now, but health care workers don’t have that luxury,” said Gabe Holmstrom, executive director of Downtown Little Rock Partnership. “They are out fighting this pandemic, taking care of the sick and risking their own health to do it. This is a simple and fun way
to root for them as a community.”
Tell your neighbors and your friends and turn out at 8 p.m. this evening for our health care community. People are encouraged to share their neighborhood’s response with the hashtag #SolidarityAt8 on social media.
