South on Main is Little Rock’s can’t-be-stopped spot for incredible eats and entertainment. Review after review roll in and the restaurant just keeps living up to the hype, time and time again. Natives love South on Main just as much as out-of-towners, keeping it at the top of people’s favorites lists.
But you already knew that.
Turns out word is spreading. MSN and Business Insider recently named South on Main the best restaurant in Arkansas. They compiled a list of the best spots in each state, basing the findings on information from the “list of the Best Restaurants in America, The Daily Meal’s 101 Best Restaurants in America list, James Beard award nominations, expert reviews, and local recommendations.” Sounds like some delicious research, if you ask us.
We’re immensely proud of the wonderful folks at South on Main, and to celebrate, they’ve shared with us the makings of their incredible pimento cheese spread.
So congrats to our friends on the south end of Main St., and excuse us while we shove our faces in some cheese.
South on Main’s Pimento Cheese Spread
The Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tsp. garlic, microplaned
- 3/4 cup mayo
- 1/4 cup pickle juice
- 1 tbsp. dijon mustard
- 2 tsp. hot sauce (We love the brand Crystal.)
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 2 tsp. cracked black pepper
- 4 piquillo peppers, diced
The Process:
Combine ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate. Yields 2 qts.
*If you really want the bacon jam South on Main serves on top of their pimento cheese, you’re just going to have to stop in for yourself.
