Taste of Tuesday: Ginger Mint Julep Recipe From Roots Juices

Change is hard. That goes double for the massive ones that come right after the season of indulgence.

Luckily, our friends at Roots Juices in The Heights are sharing this healthier-than-most cocktail that will help you make the transition into the “new year, new you” mindset.

Ginger Mint Julep with Fresh Pineapple

The Ingredients:

  • 8 – 10 mint leaves
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice
  • 2 tbsp. ginger juice
  • 2 oz. (1/4 cup) Kentucky bourbon, such as Maker’s Mark
  • 1 tbsp. mint juice
  • Mint springs and pineapple wedges, for garnish

The Details:

Place mint, pineapple and ginger in a glass. Using a muddler or wooden spoon, mash the ingredients to release the flavors. Add the bourbon to the glass and garnish with pineapple wedges and mint leaves.
