Taste of Tuesday: Amaro Amante Recipe from 109 & Co.

With this being the first time in two weeks you’ve had to work five consecutive days, we thought you might need a nice pick-me-up by way of a refreshing beverage. That’s where our friends at 109 & Co. come in.

Owner Michael Peace was kind enough to share one of his custom cocktails: Amaro Amante. Why this one, you ask? Peace says it’s because the drink has become an immediate favorite for everyone he’s recommended it to. Now, we’re recommending it to you.

The drink was created by Peace, himself, about a year ago. And here’s how you can make it.

The Ingredients:

1 oz. George Dickel 12 Tennessee Whisky

1 oz. Ramazzotti Amaro

1 oz. Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth

1/4 oz. Dekuyper Ginger Liqueur

Splash of Simple Syrup (Peace note: Don’t use if you’d like it less sweet.)

Dash of Dr. Adam Elmegirab Boker’s Bitters

Making the Drink:

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir for about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe glass with an orange zest.

A little more from Peace on the drink:

“With Amaro being a favorite digestif, this cocktail is a great after-dinner sipper. I usually prefer Bourbon and I used to use one for this cocktail, so feel free to substitute the Dickel for any of your favorite American whiskeys.”
