Stamp Out Hunger is the largest, single-day food drive in the nation, and one of the easiest ways to make a difference in your community.
Those who want to help out are asked to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods next to their mailbox prior to the time of their regular mail delivery this Saturday. Letter carriers will do double duty and collect the donations as they deliver mail.
New this year, the AARP Foundation is sending out about 240,000 red, plastic Drive to End Hunger bags, to the Little Rock metro area that can also be used to donate non-perishable food items.
Many people and organizations, including the Office of Gov. Mike Beebe, the National Association of Letter Carriers, the Arkansas Foodbank and the AARP Foundation are coming together Saturday to help the effort.
The food will be sorted by volunteers and eventually delivered to local food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters.
Be part of the nation’s largest single day food drive and fill those bags!
