Southern Salt Food Company to Open Shop Downtown

Big news: Local food truck phenomenon Southern Salt Food Company is putting down roots in downtown Little Rock.

Southern Salt’s Lauren McCants told us they have purchased a storefront on the corner of Arch and 23rd, right across from the Governor’s Mansion. Doubling as both a vintage wares and coffee shop, complete with plenty of homemade goodies, it will operate under the name Paris Candy Antiques.

Don’t worry, the truck will still be out and about. When it’s not making the rounds, its home will be in the parking lot of Paris Candy, which will also host a farmers market on the weekends.

Apart from establishing a home base, the goal is to revitalize the area, making it more walkable and community-based, much like the successful SoMa District. They will be also be repurposing and recycling items to decorate the shop, keeping their renovations as green as possible.

For now, the projected opening is sometime within the next 2-3 months. Keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming in-depth Q&A with Lauren McCants.

You can track Southern Salt on their Facebook page, where they post their truck’s current location.

We can’t wait!
