Mark your calendars and start making lunch plans because Soul Fish Cafe (and all of its Southern goodness) is aiming to open its doors on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
The restaurant, located at 306 Main St. in downtown Little Rock next to Bruno’s Deli, is the chain’s fourth location and the first outside of Memphis. Once open, Soul Fish’s hours will be 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
The restaurant features fried catfish and other Southern favorites such as pork chops, po’boy sandwiches and a wide variety of sides like hush puppies, black-eyed peas and collard greens, all with the perk of getting time-pressed patrons in and out in under half an hour.
Raymond Williams, one of the owners of Soul Fish, told our sister publication Arkansas Business that they chose Little Rock because it is close to Memphis (both in proximity and similarity) and also on a river. They looked at many cities before deciding to open here.
“Little Rock just stuck out,” Williams said. “The restaurant scene is really growing. Downtown, it seems like, is really growing. It just seemed like the right place to be.”
But if you can’t wait until Aug. 3, Soul Fish is hosting a soft opening on Aug. 1 and 2 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. We took a peak at their menu and the blackened salmon, mac ‘n’ cheese, sweet potato fries and caramel pecan pie are just few of the things calling our names.
