Soledad O’Brien to Headline 2024 Soirée Women’s Leadership Symposium

Award-winning journalist, documentarian, entrepreneur and producer Soledad O’Brien will lead the 2024 Soirée Women’s Leadership Symposium lineup as the featured keynote speaker.

With anchoring stints on CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC, O’Brien has become one of the best-known names in broadcast journalism over the course of her career. Her work has received multiple Emmys, Peabodys and other awards, including a place in the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame.

In 2013, she founded Soledad O’Brien Productions with the mission to tell stories that “amplify marginalized voices while exploring pressing social issues like race, class, gender and identity.” O’Brien also co-founded the PowHERful Foundation connecting women in college through mentoring programs and conferences.

She currently anchors and produces the weekly program “Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien” and is a correspondent for HBO Real Sports.

“Soledad O’Brien’s dedication to telling authentic stories on a diverse range of social issues and people is truly inspirational,” says Mandy Richardson, symposium founder and publisher of Little Rock Soirée magazine. “She has had an impressive personal journey from the roots of her parents to the pivot she made early in her career, realizing the importance passion plays in creating a meaningful professional life.

“We are excited to continue to bring accomplished, driven, compassionate women like Soledad to the SWLS stage to inspire us all to do and be more for our communities.”

The half-day symposium will once again offer professional development opportunities for women in the workplace through curated programming led by industry experts, local entrepreneurs, community leaders and C-suite executives.

The sixth annual SWLS will take place on Thursday, May 2, at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock, its largest venue to date. Early registration is open now
