Charlotte Potts State Farm Agency
From her eight years as an insurance agent to her relationships as a mentor to her roles as wife and mom (and dog mom), Charlotte Potts loves it all. The Hazen native is guided by her faith and the joy she finds in working toward being the best version of herself.
What’s a typical day look like for you?
There is no typical day in insurance! I wake up at 5:30 a.m. and try to go to bed before midnight. During the day there are client meetings, lots of phone calls, team meetings, property inspections, educational events, school and homework (during normal times), dinner with my family and extracurricular activities for our son. The days fly by.
What type of coverage do consumers often forget to purchase?
Life insurance. Most people think their biggest asset is whatever costs the most. In reality, a person’s biggest asset is their ability to financially provide for their family. If someone passes away prematurely, how does it change their standard of living? How does it change the trajectory of their children’s lives? I’m extremely passionate about taking care of clients this way and so is my team.
How often should coverage be reviewed?
Yearly at minimum and at every life event or change.
What makes your customer service outstanding?
Customer service is the most important facet in my agency. It’s what makes a business referable, and we strive to be referable. My team and I strive to make each client feel like they’re family. We personalize each experience when they come into the office. We individualize policy coverages to meet each client’s needs. We don’t just put coverages on or take them off, we ask questions to make sure we understand what each family wants or needs.
In addition, at claim time, my agency has one person dedicated as liaison between our claim department and the client. By doing this, there’s one more person to help answer questions. For those who want to do business with us virtually, my office is efficient at handling requests this way as well.
When should companies consider coverage for employment practices or cyber liability?
In today’s environment all businesses should consider both if they have employees and/or an online presence or store client data.
What are the most important factors to consider when choosing a life insurance company?
Financial strength and how they settle death claims. If you purchase a permanent policy when you’re 25, this policy could potentially not pay for 70 years. You definitely want a company that’s financially strong.
Here are some important questions to ask: Do coverages or premiums change once someone reaches a certain age? How long does it take to receive a death benefit? Ask yourself, do you really want to dial a 1-800 to file a claim and have to figure all the paperwork out on your own? By having a local State Farm agent, families have an agency here to help during some really hard times.
Is there any other important information you think our readers should know?
My husband Shane and I have been married 22 years. We have one son Landon who will be a freshman this year. I love living, working and serving in the central Arkansas area. I am so appreciative of my team, the recommendation as being one of the Best Insurance Agents and for each family who allows us to be their agency. Thank you!
