A conversation with Dr. Natalia Hodge, DDS, MS, on revolutionizing orthodontics
Orthodontist & Owner, Hodge Orthodontics
What is digital orthodontics and how is it different from traditional orthodontics?
Digital orthodontics is the process of using 3D imaging, computer simulations and 3D printing to plan and execute treatments. It differs from traditional orthodontics by leveraging technology at every stage, instead of relying on manual adjustments and appliance fabrication. Digital methods are more precise, yielding faster results, often improving comfort.
What type of digital techniques does Hodge Orthodontics offer?
We use 3D oral scanners instead of impressions. That’s the first step to fabricating 3D printed appliances and custom braces. We also offer Invisalign, which is great for patients who want something removable and discrete. In addition, we offer remote monitoring, which reduces the number of visits to the office.
What are the benefits of Digital Orthodontics for patients?
Digital solutions make orthodontic treatment more efficient and convenient. Custom appliances and braces require less manual adjustments. Remote monitoring reduces disturbances to busy schedules while increasing the frequency at which we monitor our patient’s progress. Call us to schedule a complimentary consultation.
