501.299.2135 | archildrens.org Pediatric specialists at the Arkansas Children’s Eye Center provide expert care for problems related to  the eye, including childhood cataracts, glaucoma, amblyopia and issues with the retina, cornea or  eyelids. New parents often become concerned when they notice their baby’s eyes don’t appear focused  or are crossed. If erratic eye behavior – common in newborns – persists after six months, further  examination by a pediatrician is recommended. The Eye Center offers specialized treatments, from  surgery to glasses or contact lenses. Arkansas Children’s provides access to care for the mental and  emotional developmental issues that can stem from misaligned eyes.

Parent or family attendance at an educational session is required  for patients recommended to our program. The session includes information on causes, medical  complications, behavioral and emotional symptoms and treatment of eating disorders. The session will  also include discussion of how parents and other family members can be helpful and supportive of their child or adolescent. Additional educational resources will be provided.
