Sign Up Now for ‘Macbeth’ Auditions at The Rep

A few weeks ago we told you about the Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s incredible 2015-2016 season lineup, but now we’re here with even more exciting news. Auditions are beginning for the first show of the season, “Macbeth.”

You’d better start practicing your best Shakespearean voice because auditions are on April 19 by appointment only. For the audition, actors must perform a Shakespeare monologue of their choosing for two minutes. Some actors may be called back at a later date to read for specific roles.

If you think you might not be the Shakespeare type, don’t fret; The Rep is looking for a diverse company. Perhaps you just think you’re not the right age. Well, you’re wrong again. Roles will be filled from an age range of 18-55. Maybe you just think you don’t have the money to commit to acting right now. No problem; all roles are paid.

Are you out of excuses now and think you might want to give it a try? Email Peter Mensky, company manager, at pmensky@therep.org with “Macbeth Local Request’” as the subject line.

Rehearsals begin on August 11 and the show runs from September 11-27.  The Rep’s Producing Artistic Director Robert Hupp will be directing the show. Visit The Rep’s website for more information.
