The juice cleansing type? Tired of pressing all of your own fruits and vegetables and making a huge mess in your kitchen? If you answered yes, your life is about to get better.
Roots Juices is opening in the Heights on Sept. 10, according to owner Brent Rodgers.
Located next door to Le Pops, Roots Juices will offer cold-pressed juices, the new darling of health gurus everywhere, it seems.
These cold-pressed juices, according to Rodgers, contain 50 times the amount of nutrients than the juice you buy at the market or make at home which he says “uses heat and force to extract the juice, which kills vital nutrients.”
Roots Juices uses a masticating process, which means these pounds of produce are pressed to the max at 38 degrees and all of the goodness is then released and poured into a bottle.
Here’s a video demonstrating how it works:
With all of these extra vitamins and minerals, don’t expect to sip on a sweet drink. Rodgers points out these aren’t meant to be sweet but “green and healthy.”
The menu includes 24 different types of juices including the Liver Cleanse, which includes beets, carrots, apples and aloe ginger. There’s also the Skin Glow, which is full of celery, spinach, lemon and apple. Made fresh every day, these $8 bottles contain three pounds of pressed fruit and vegetables according to the website.

Rodgers, who currently lives in Dallas, has ties to Little Rock.
“I consider Little Rock home. My grandparents cousins and parents live there. It’s an outdoor city full of active, healthy people. Little Rock was on the radar for a long time for my small business,” said Rodgers.
