Rock Out for Childhood Cancer Awareness

There’s power in music and there’s power in numbers. That’s exactly the kind of strength the annual Rockin’ the Bald event stands to promote.

This family concert event will crank it to 11 in order to raise awareness for childhood cancer in Arkansas, and will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at the River Market Pavilions. Guests can expect food trucks and live music from Wildflowers Revue, Good Time Ramblers, Freeverse, and Stephen Neeper & the Wild Hearts.

If you really want to go all in, the staff is also providing complementary head shavings so you can truly rock the bald in support of childhood cancer awareness.

In line with National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Rockin’ the Bald was created in honor of local cancer survivor Elijah Talley. Now in its third year, the event celebrates 17-year-old Kaden Peebles, a pediatric cancer survivor, with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Mid-South.

For those unable to attend the 2016 bash, food delivery service Chef Shuttle has pledged to donate $1 to Make-A-Wish for every order placed in central Arkansas on Sept. 28 and 29. That means you have to order dessert, right? Right.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids under 12 online, and will be available at the door for $20 for adults and $10 for kids. Click here to get your tickets.
