Over the hill never looked so good.
Riverfest, a staple of summertime in Little Rock, is set to take over Riverfront Park June 1-4 with huge music acts, vendors, food and fun. But this is no ordinary Riverfest.
This year marks the big 4-0 for the fest, and the event team just announced new details for Sunday, June 4, in which they plan to celebrate the milestone by recreating the atmosphere of Riverfests in years past.
Check out the Riverfest 2017 music lineup.
Headlined by Morris Day & The Time, it will be a day full of family-friendly activities, live entertainment and, of course, fireworks.
“We’re really looking forward to throwing it back to 1977 – the year Riverfest was founded – during this 40th celebration,” executive director DeAnna Korte said. “Those who attended Riverfest in the early years will feel a sense of nostalgia with Sunday’s events.”
Some of the day’s events include:
- carnival rides
- Riverfest treasure hunt
- professional and amateur cake decorating competition
- celebrity dunking booth
- PK Grill Steak Cook-off
- crafts and face painting
- Heifer International petting zoo
- performances by local and regional bands
- an attempt to break a Guinness World Record
It all kicks off at 1 p.m. and the First Security Bank fireworks display will bring it home at 9 p.m.
Tickets to the 40th anniversary bash are $5 at the gate, while kids 10 and younger get in free. Those with tickets to the rest of the fest will also get in for free.
