Get excited, downtowners! Café Bossa Nova is bringing a little Brazilian flavor to the River Market.
River Market Books & Gifts and its Bookends Café, the bookshop and café owned and across the parking lot from the CALS Main Library, just announced that it will now offer items from Hillcrest-based Brazilian restaurant Café Bossa Nova.
The new menu items will change periodically, but here’s what you can find as of now:
- pão de queijo: Brazilian-style cheese bread made with gluten free yucca root flour, milk, eggs and cheese
- salpicão: finger shredded cooked chicken breast, fuji apples, carrots, sweet peas, herbs and spices, lightly mixed with mayo and served on pita.
- yakisoba bowls: Rosalia’s Brazilian take on a Japanese dish consisting of a bowl of noodles with assorted veggies, with or without meats, cooked in yakisoba sauce
- beef empanadas
- breakfast empanadas
- morning glory muffins
- energy bars
- brownies
The Bookends Café and River Market Books & Gifts’ operating hours will also change to accommodate for the new breakfast options. Doors are now open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday.
