We shared an article last week that spotlights more than 150 black-owned businesses to support in central Arkansas. But ReMix Ideas, a company founded by Benito Lubazibwa to reduce barriers and provide resources for black-owned businesses, is making it even easier to diversify your spending.
ReMix Ideas is partnering with Quality Video Services to launch a QVC-type virtual platform for black entrepreneurs to reach customers. The program, called Shop Black Live, is a one-hour livestream hosted on the ReMix Ideas’ Facebook page every Friday at 7 p.m. starting June 12. The first virtual shopping experience kicks off with Little Rock-based, world-renown designer and “Project Runway” alum Korto Momolu.
“We offer a marketplace where people can shop safely and from home for quality products at affordable prices,” Lubazibwa says. “As with all of our projects — Africa Day Fest, the popular Little Rock Night Market, our Business Academy, the COVID-19 virtual music concert and the recent pop-up crowdfunding — we are building runways for black entrepreneurs to thrive during this crisis and beyond through unconventional platforms and solutions.”
Since 2017, ReMix Ideas has been committed to removing barriers that black entrepreneurs face in accessing knowledge, capital, opportunities and resources for them to start, grow and scale their businesses.
