The Fourth of July is coming up fast and there’s plenty of fun activities and events in the metro area to celebrate our nation’s birthday.

Events

Free Admission at Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock: To honor the nation’s birthday, the Clinton Presidential Center offers free admission on the Fourth of July. Take the opportunity to come learn all there is to know about William Jefferson Clinton and his time as the 42nd President of the United States. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fun on the Fourth, Pinnacle Mountain State Park, Little Rock: Have fun with the whole family and partake in wild and wet games, including water balloon volleyball, tug-of-water, relay races and much more. The event is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free. For more information, call 868-5806.

Frontier 4th of July, Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. 3rd St., Little Rock: If you’d like a view into how the Fourth of July was celebrated on the Arkansas frontier, don’t miss out on this event at the Historic Arkansas Museum. The July 4 afternoon event will include an old-time patriotic parade, 19th century music and encounters with those from the past. Children’s activities include stilt-walking and pioneer games. All activities are free and open to the public. Be ready to cheer “huzzah” during a reading of The Declaration of Independence and be on the lookout for Red Coats! Arkansas Travelers vs. Frisco RoughRiders, Dickey-Stephens Park, 400 W. Broadway St., North Little Rock: Take in a baseball game on the America’s birthday, then, settle in for a great seat to the fireworks show. The game starts against Frisco at 5:30 p.m. The Travs will be in patriotic jerseys, which will be auctioned off at the conclusion of the game, to commemorate the holiday. For tickets, click here.

Pops on the River, River Market Pavilions and First Security Amphitheater, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock: Firework shows don’t get much better than on the Arkansas River every July 4. Pops on the River has become a must-attend for those looking to celebrate the country’s most-beloved holiday. The firework show is accompanied by music from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Fourth of July Extravaganza, Little Rock Marriott, 3 Statehouse Plaza, Little Rock: This inaugural Fourth of July Extravaganza includes a barbecue dinner and a front row seat to the night’s fireworks show. Tickets are $50 for adult general admission and $25 for kids. Children four and under get in free. You’ll get private access to the Riverfront Park, the Riverview Room and the Riverview Terrace. VIP tickets are $75 for adults and $35 for kids. The VIP treatment includes private seating space on the terrace during the fireworks show, a private buffet, private cash bars and private indoor restrooms.
