PLANTation Services is Arkansas’ largest indoor landscaping company. Founded in 1980 by Tina Shelby, we provide decorative container and live indoor plant rentals and guaranteed maintenance. I joined the team in 2006 and moved into management shortly after. In 2008, I assumed the title of operations manager and ran the service operations until 2011, when the owners presented me with the opportunity to purchase the company. Soon I will celebrate my third anniversary as owner. Today we serve the entire central Arkansas region and employ a team of 13.

Why do you love your career?
Every day is different and every day brings new challenges and rewards. I truly get to do what I love every day and I feel incredibly blessed by that fact.

What are your goals for the future?
My goal is to create opportunities for all team members at PLANTation Services to grow and succeed in their passions.

What’s a fun fact about you that would surprise people?  
I knit. I picked it up about three years ago. I have a really hard time sitting idle and it is something that keeps my hands busy and feeds my  productivity.

How did you know this is what you wanted to do?
I didn’t! I got to my second year of college with a plant science major and panicked.  I then added agricultural business as a second major. I found the industry by a web search and from there took advantage of every opportunity offered to me.

What is your best personality trait?
I’m stubborn to a fault. Just tell me I cannot do something and I’ll die proving you wrong.  I strive to harness my stubbornness to achieve my goals and do good things for others as well.
