I’ve loved sparkly eyeshadows since high school. Back then, I hadn’t quite mastered the art of blending, but that didn’t stop me from doing my girlfriends’ makeup. Many bottles of eye-makeup remover later, I became a pro makeup artist and esthetician.  This February, I opened Beauty Geek Lash and Skincare Lounge. It’s a laid back, friendly little studio where we provide the very best lash extensions, facials and makeup in town. My job is amazing! Every day I get to work with my awesome, loyal clients — many of them have become my dearest friends. My next goal...the internet! I can’t wait to share my beauty tips with the world! 

PRESSING QUESTIONS:

Why do you love your career?
I get to hang out with fellow beauty geeks all day! Also, the cosmetic industry is ever-changing; keeping up with all the latest trends in skincare and makeup satisfies my thirst for knowledge.

What are your goals for the future? 
My plans for the near future involve me, a camera, good lighting and some makeup brushes. I’m taking on YouTube! I’d also love to see my physical location expand to accommodate more service providers.

If you weren’t doing this job what would you be doing?
I have always been a creative writing nerd, so I’d probably be writing creative nonfiction or blogging professionally

What’s a fun fact about you that would surprise people?
I grew up raising and showing registered Texas Longhorn cattle. They were my beloved pets! We named each cow and they all had their own unique personality. That’s why I’ve been a strict vegetarian for most of my life.

Knowing what you know now, what’s the best advice you could have given yourself when you were first starting out?
It’s easy to get wrapped up in competition and drama in the beauty industry.  Don’t worry about anyone else.  Stay focused on doing what you love and do the best job possible.  Above all, beauty should be positive and fun!

Book: Don’t judge, but I love the Harry Potter books!
Gadget: My iPad Mini. It’s with me all the time.
Vacation Destination:  I love visiting Los Angeles, but NOLA has my heart.
