After eight years serving as the CFO for my family’s business, ACE Glass, the opportunity to pursue my dream job became a reality when I purchased Eggshells Kitchen Co. in August 2013. My love of cooking, entertaining and interacting with new people transformed from being a pastime to being my full-time job. We are a toy store for foodies, where you can find unique kitchen items, gourmet food products and cooking classes with local chefs.

PRESSING QUESTIONS:

Why do you love your career?
It doesn’t feel like work. I get to bake at my office, play with fun kitchen toys and I’m surrounded by the most wonderful women who make me so proud and make every day a pleasure to show up!

If you weren’t doing this job, what would you be doing?
I would be party planning for other people. I love designing a party scheme, from decorations, to food, to games … right down to the wrapping paper. Holidays are my favorite!

What’s a fun fact about you that would surprise people? 
I originally went to Ouachita Baptist University as a vocal performance major. After one semester, I knew I wasn’t cut out to be a performer or a teacher, so I sought a new path and chose accounting.

Who is your role model?
My mom. She balanced running a successful business with being a mother to three children, teaching Bible study and volunteering in the community and foreign missions. She makes me think I can tackle the same challenges, hopefully with the same grace.

What is your best personality trait?
I’m genuine. What you see is what you get, and I mean what I say.

Restaurant: I love anything local. I love too many chefs to play favorites!

Book: Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne (I have three small boys, so all my reading time belongs to them.)
Vacation Destination:  Jamaica – my sweet hubby just took me there for our 10th anniversary!
