Catholic High’s primary philosophy, summed up best by the title of a Catholic Bishop’s letter, is “To teach as Jesus did.” Promoting the truth revealed by Jesus of Nazareth is at the heart of our philosophy and our oldest tradition. In essence, our mission is simple. We are a Catholic, college-preparatory high school with two main goals: Christian formation and exceptional academics.
We are funded through the generous support of alumni, friends, and benefactors who invest in the Catholic High experience. In addition, Catholic High has long been considered one of the best values in private-school education in Arkansas via its low tuition.
The Ties that Bind: Rocket to the Mountaintop Dinner and Auction, to be held on November 7, 2015, is a night filled with fun, friends, great food and wonderful items to bid on. The funds raised from this event support the CHS Booster Club, which provides funds and other necessities for all of the extracurricular activities. It also eliminates the need for any activity fees which benefits all of our students.
Our Marine Corps JROTC program has won the MCRA Award, designating it as best in the region, four out of the last five years. Fifty-nine alumni have taught a combined 500 years at CHS. We have a Structured Study Hall class with emphasis on those with dyslexia/dysgraphia. And, we collaborate with Mount St. Mary Academy in many ways including school plays, JROTC, band and cheerleading. While our academic program is exceptional, Catholic High’s culture of character building is without peer. With the idea that a rising tide lifts all boats, each student at Catholic High is surrounded with high expectations and high standards. Simply, our boys strive.
