Helping those who cannot help themselves is a driving force behind Matthew Hartness’ passion for practicing law. He really loves what he does. He has been practicing law with an emphasis on personal injury litigation since 1996. He has extensive jury trial experience throughout the state. He is proud to be nominated for the second time by Little Rock Soirée, after being named Best Personal Injury Lawyer in 2014.

The proudest moment in his professional life was when he was able to negotiate a settlement in a case where a drunk driver of a company vehicle killed a five-year-old girl and injured her family. The facts of this case are heartbreaking, and Hartness was able to provide justice for the family that had suffered an unimaginable tragedy. He fought hard to make sure both the driver and his company were held accountable for the actions that took that child’s life.

Matt Hartness understands that the legal process can be long and arduous, which is why he also became a certified mediator. He wanted to provide a service that could cut the costs of litigation and work with his clients toward a faster resolution. He has achieved many goals he has set for himself in his professional life, but he says his most important goal is to teach his children right from wrong. Hartness says that if he can do that, he will consider himself a success no matter what he may or may not achieve in his professional life.
