Throughout Bonnie Robertson’s 13-plus years as a family lawyer and her 16-plus years as a stepmom, she says she has been fortunate to gain very valuable perspective on the issues her clients face. “My stepdaughter is a well-adjusted, loving adult, thanks to the very conscious decisions by the adults around her to protect her from any animosity we may have felt toward each other as she was growing up,” Robertson says. “All on her own, she became quite aware of all of our shortcomings. She loves us anyway.”
