Throughout Bonnie Robertson’s 13-plus years as a family lawyer and her 16-plus years as a stepmom, she says she has been fortunate to gain very valuable perspective on the issues her clients face. “My stepdaughter is a well-adjusted, loving adult, thanks to the very conscious decisions by the adults around her to protect her from any animosity we may have felt toward each other as she was growing up,” Robertson says. “All on her own, she became quite aware of all of our shortcomings. She loves us anyway.”
“I urge my clients to look closely at their priorities, their goals for litigation and the effects their actions will have on their children. I know, personally, the sacrifice and foresight it requires to raise your children in an environment that allows them to heal from the break-up and to form lasting, functional relationships as adults. This is why I love my job and the opportunity it provides me to assist clients in forging a peaceful and stable future for their families,” she says.
Robertson Law Firm, PLLC, has four locations with attorneys that practice all over the state. The group has been proud advocates of marriage equality and gender equality in parenting and are “outside the box” litigators for clients who need to fight for their rights in family law, even when the law has not caught up to the reality of the changing family structure.
Although Robertson practices primarily family law, her firm also provides representation in criminal law, elder law, probate and bankruptcy.
