John Starling, CEO of JTS Financial, has been in the insurance industry since 1998. The Pine Bluff native says he has an insatiable quest for knowledge and desire to exceed clients expectations. JTS sets itself apart by our willingness to invest and adapt to the ongoing changes in our industry. Also, JTS continues to develop and invest in technology focused upon simplifying the employee benefits process. John is married to his wife, Vicky, and the couple has two children.
What makes your customer service outstanding? We have a very experienced and dedicated team of customer service specialists at JTS. In many cases our customer service team are the same benefit counselors that enroll our clients’ employees in their benefits. This educates our customer service team in the custom benefits package developed for our client. Our technology platform allows us to further streamline our customer service experience.
What are you doing to prepare for the changes in your industry? JTS invests heavily in continually upgrading its technology platform. We have our own internal IT Department, internal Marketing Department and internal ACA Compliance Department. We believe that technology and the ability to communicate employee benefits is imperative for JTS to adequately assist our clients in meeting their new challenges created by the Affordable Care Act.
■ Favorite genre of music? My kids control that part of my life, so whatever they have on the radio is what I listen to.

■ Hobbies? Hunting, fishing and golf
■ If you all of a sudden found yourself with an entire day off and nothing scheduled, how would you spend it? I would have to defer to my wife if this ever happened.
