‘Pride and the Power of Love’ LGBTQIA+ Exhibit to Premiere at Esse Purse Museum

Just in time for June, the Esse Purse Museum is launching a new temporary exhibit, “Pride and the Power of Love: Celebrating our LGBTQIA+ Friends and Loved Ones.”

The exhibit opens Tuesday, June 1, and will run through August 29. “Pride and the Power of Love” is a lively and factual look at LGBTQIA+ history with photos and artifacts carefully curated in the colors of the gay pride flag. And of course, because Esse is a purse museum, parts of the rainbow flag are created with purses.

The Esse Purse Museum & Store is located at 1510 Main St. in SoMa and is open Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Masks are required, social distancing is encouraged and sanitizing stations are placed throughout the building

Museum admission is $10 and $8 for students, military and seniors. Admission is free for children under 6.
