The food scene in Little Rock is a big deal — and we’re not just talking about the city’s amazing restaurants. Numerous local farmers, producers and artisans are whipping up amazing foods on a daily basis and sharing them with the masses. It’s really an exciting and delicious time to be in Little Rock. From hummus and salsa, to honeys, snack mixes and more, here are six local favorites that top our list of summer must-eats.

K-Bee Apiaries Pure Honey

Wicked Mix

Don’t be fooled. This is no ordinary snack mix. We’re beginning to wonder if we need to seek professional help, as this treat is not only found in our desk drawers at the office but in our kitchen pantries at home, too. We were ecstatic to learn these tasty morsels are made from scratch right here in Little Rock. Available in three flavors — spicy original, chocolate-laced and spicy hot chipotle — these stand-up pouches filled with deliciousness can be found at local specialty stores and Kroger.

Geek Eats Cilantro Almond Pesto and Original Hummus

K-Bee Apiaries Pure Honey

A naturally sweet treat, honey is one of nature’s perfect foods. We especially love the cut comb honey from K-Bee in Sherwood. This liquid honey with chunks of honeycomb in the jar is delicious and fun. Available at The Green Corner Store.

Robbi’s Salsa

Geek Eats Cilantro Almond Pesto and Original Hummus

The hummus revolution is upon us and we are ready to consume with glee! Geek Eats, started by a couple in North Little Rock, began selling its products at local farmers markets last year and the word spread rapidly. We’re huge fans of all flavors of hummus, including the original. Another favorite — the cilantro almond pwesto. Tastier and fresher than your average shelf-stable pesto, we love to toss this freshly made basil-based spread with our pasta and spread it on our pizza crusts. Geek Eats products can be found at local farmers markets, The Green Corner Store and Stratton’s Market.

Bear Kingdom Vineyard Red Raspberry Jam

Robbi’s Salsa

If you’ve ever opened a jar of Robbi’s Salsa, no need to continue reading. You know what we’re about to say. We cannot get enough! Available in mild and hot, this fresh salsa is made using only a few ingredients and packs a huge flavor punch. Robbi’s is a small, family-owned business in North Little Rock. The salsa can be found at local stores, including The Green Corner Store and Terry’s Finer Foods.

Wicked Mix

Bear Kingdom Vineyard Red Raspberry Jam

This raspberry gourmet jam from Bear Kingdom Vineyard in Little Rock tastes like summer. A favorite spreadable fare on our morning toast, jars are available at Shoppes on Woodlawn and Old Mill Bread in Rock Creek Square on Markham.
