Summertime is big for outdoor activities, but with hot temperatures, people take a second to think twice about venturing outside into the heat.
However, various show caves in Arkansas can provide outdoor lovers with the perfect adventure while staying cool. The state features eight show caves that offer you the chance to get outside without enduring the heat. Since they’re subterranean, you’ll encounter cooler temps than outside in the sun.
“A cave like ours, we’re great family entertainment, a chance to get outdoors instead of being cooped up indoors or playing video games,” Dennis Boyer, of War Eagle Caverns said in a news release. “It’s nice and cool in the summertime.”
Boyer said the cave’s constant temperature is a cool 58 degrees.
Show caves are open for tours for individuals or groups. For more information, click here. If you and your family decide to venture out to one of the state’s show caves, be sure and bring a jacket! Below is a list of show caves in Arkansas.
