It’s party season, y’all!  Holiday celebrations are in full swing, and whether you go out on the town to get into the “spirit” of the season (we had to) or prefer to throw your own festive shindig, we’re spreading holiday cheer with our favorite crowd-pleasing cocktail recipes. From ciders and champagne to reinvented eggnog and spiked coffee — these holiday-inspired drinks will get your party buzzing or just warm your bones on a chilly night.

1. The Grinch
Ciao Baci, Neil Pedrick

This refreshing, festive cocktail will chase away even the worst case of the holiday bah humbugs. You’ll go from as cuddly as a cactus, to as happy as a Who in no time.

  • 1.5 oz. Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1.5 oz. Frangelico
  • 1/2 oz. Green Crème de Menthe
  • Whipped cream
  • Red and green sprinkles (garnish)

Shake all ingredients with ice and pour into a cocktail glass. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles.

2. Brandy Cobbler

Don’t let the ice deceive you; one sip of this classic brandy drink will warm you up in an instant. We advise to take small sips because this cocktail packs a punch.

  • 1.5 oz. Germain-Robin brandy
  • .33 oz. Senior Curacao Blanco
  • 1/2 bar-spoon Allspice Dram
  • Muddled sugar
  • Strawberry and half an orange slice
  • Sugar cube
  • Crushed ice
  • Straw
  • Mint sprig (garnish)

Mix ingredients and pour into a Julep cup over crushed ice. Garnish with mint or fruit.

3. Damson Plum Fizz
South on Main, David Burnette

A silky and plum-flavored spirit, this gin-based cocktail is smooth and rich – a great cocktail to get the celebration started.

  • 1.5 oz. Damson gin
  • 1/2 oz. lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 1/2 egg white
  • Couple of dashes of black walnut bitters
  • Cinnamon stick (garnish)

Mix ingredients with ice and shake. Serve in a martini glass garnished with a cinnamon stick.

4. The Hoelzeman Holiday

This hot cider, equal parts spicy and sweet, will impress all of your holiday guests and make your house smell amazing. Makes four servings.

  • 12 oz. apple cider
  • Grated zest of one orange
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, broken into pieces
  • 4 cinnamon sticks (garnish)
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 6 oz. Laird’s Applejack
  • 2 oz. “whipped” flavored vodka

Combine the cider, zest, cinnamon and cloves in a nonreactive saucepan over moderate heat. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover the pan and let steep for 20 minutes. Strain, dividing among four mugs. Add 1.5 ounces of the applejack and a 1/2 ounce of the vodka to each mug. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

5. The McGrew CristO

As the temperature drops, warm up with this delicious, flavorful spiced coffee. A blend of zesty orange and rich coffee, this holiday hand-warmer will bring joy to any celebration.

  • 3/4 oz. Kahlua
  • 3/4 oz. Hiram Walker Triple Sec
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Grated zest of one orange
  • Sugar

Rim a glass coffee mug with sugar. Add liqueurs and fill with hot coffee. Stir.
Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and orange zest.

6. The Poinsettia Paige

Made with sparkling wine and St. Germain, this is a festive and elegant drink perfect for intimate gatherings or big celebrations.

  • 3/4 oz. St. Germain
  • 3-4 oz. Francis Ford Coppola Sofia Rosé Sparkling Wine
  • Fresh strawberries or rosemary sprig (garnish)

Mix ingredients and garnish with fresh strawberries or rosemary.

7. Katie’s Moscow Mule

Mix up this simple and classic cocktail with vodka, ginger beer and lime for a refreshing holiday option.

  • 1.5 oz. Ketel One Vodka
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 5 oz. ginger beer

Build the cocktail over ice in a copper mug. Add vodka, squeeze a wedge of lime and top with ginger beer.

8. The Cobb Nog

Enjoyed by the fire, in the snow or after dinner, this smooth and indulgent creamy drink is truly a classic with a twist.

  • 4 oz. vanilla vodka  
  • 4 oz. Baileys Irish Cream
  • 2 oz. Kahlua
  • Ground nutmeg and cinnamon (garnish)

Fill a pint glass with crushed ice. Add ingredients. Shake. Then shake the drink. Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon.

9. Luci’s Jingle Jangle Mocktail Punch

You don’t need alcohol to make a holiday drink taste great! For expecting moms and designated drivers, try this non-alcoholic punch that is just as festive and fun.

  • 2 bottles chilled ginger ale
  • I 46 oz. can chilled pineapple juice
  • 1 bottle chilled white grape juice

Mix all ingredients in punch bowl. Add desired garnish and ice.
