For the first time ever, “The 24 Hour Plays” are coming to Little Rock.
This one-night-only event features six original plays by six talented Arkansas writers. The works are all conceived, written, rehearsed and performed in a 24-hour period. With the help of 24 actors and six directors, the show will come to life for one special, fast-paced night of performing arts at The Arkansas Repertory Theater.
At 7 p.m. on Monday, July 31, the curtains will rise and writers Lesley Dancer, Graham Gordy, Coby Goss, Candrice Jones, Spade Robinson and Kyle Therral Wilson will showcase their 10-minute-long productions with help from directors Caelon Colbert, Delance Minefee, Dariane Mull, Cat Miller, Ann Muse and Justin Pike.
“The 24 Hour Plays” will be a one-of-a-kind night where the theater community is able to create something in immediate response to what is happening around them, minus the time it takes for drafts, revisions, rehearsals and everything else it takes to bring a performance to life. This concept began in New York City in 1995 and has been replicated and produced in cities all around the world. Now it’s our turn to put our own Little Rock spin on it.
All proceeds from the show will benefit the American Red Cross and regional tornado relief. Click here to purchase a ticket.
