Career goal: I grew up raised by a single mother who had me at a young age, so we didn’t have the most money. While taking care of me, my mother attended college and worked numerous jobs – sometimes at once – so she could afford to provide for both of us. Even though we didn’t have the most, my mom always ensured I had a comfortable life. Growing up watching such a determined woman has fueled me with resolve. My goal in life is to become “free,” and part of that freedom is financial freedom. I won’t be burdened by financial needs. I not only want to provide for myself but also for my family. The first step I’ll take is attending a university and majoring in design. Once I obtain my degree and accumulate enough experience in the industrial design work field, I’d like to start my own business in product design. At the end of the day, I want to make sure my family and I are set for life, so I won’t only depend on one business for revenue but also other passages like real estate.
Tell us about the teacher, coach or administrator who made a difference in your life: Ms. Baily, a teacher I’ve had for the entirety of my high school career over the teachings of multiple courses, has made the most difference in my life. She’s made me feel the most welcome to the point where she’s like family, and her warmness reaches out to any student willing to accept it.
