The arts are coming to the outdoors once again thanks to the return of Ballet Arkansas' Live at the Plaza series.
Now set for Sept. 6-10 after inclement weather foiled spring shows, mixed repertory performances will be held at Argenta Plaza and will feature classical and contemporary works from world-renowned choreographers. The series is hosted in partnership with North Little Rock Tourism and the City of North Little Rock, and will coincide with Argenta Dogtown Throwdown.
"Though we were disappointed to have to postpone the spring performances, fall brings its own magic in downtown North Little Rock. With Argenta Dogtown Throwdown the same weekend, we hope people will enjoy all the creative energy of Ballet Arkansas, live music and outdoor dining," says Erica Warden, director of market development for North Little Rock Tourism. "We are grateful for our partner, Ballet Arkansas, who has carefully put together a reimagined, entertaining fall program that all ages will enjoy."
The series also serves as a kickoff to Ballet Arkansas' 45th anniversary season, which includes the Encore! Season Opening Reception and "Wonderland: Alice’s Epic Adventure" this fall. Learn more about those here.
All five Live at the Plaza performances are free and open to the public. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. Update: Due to extreme heat, Wednesday and Thursday performances have been canceled.
