WHO WE ARE
Why is it important to take care of your skin?
The skin, believe it or not, is the largest organ of the body. Practicing good habits when it comes to skin care can help prevent skin cancer and photoaging. One of the most fundamental steps in your skin care routine is using proper sun protection. It is important to use a sunscreen with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide DAILY on all sun exposed areas to protect yourself from harmful UVA rays. For days full of fun in the sun, use protective clothing such as UPF shirts, hats and sunglasses.
When should you see a dermatologist?
A dermatologist can help manage several skin conditions including acne, melasma, psoriasis, eczema, skin cancer and photoaging. Annual skin cancer checks with a dermatologist are important, especially in patients with significant sun exposure or a family history of skin cancer. If you notice a spot growing, changing color, bleeding or not healing, you should see a dermatologist.
What do I love about dermatology?
Dermatology has such a variety of medical conditions along with cosmetic advances to help with aging skin. Giving patients options for healthy skin, whether that is clear skin from acne or smoother skin from fine lines and wrinkles, helps boost self-confidence. We find no greater joy than seeing patients feel good in their skin.
Are cosmetic treatments right for you?
Numerous cosmetic treatments are available that can benefit your skin in different ways. Popular treatment options include neurotoxin and filler. Neurotoxin works by decreasing muscle movements, which helps prevent and minimize wrinkles. Filler can be used to restore volume loss and enhance facial features such as the lips, cheeks, chin or jawline. Another favorite in our clinic is microneedling, which focuses on overall skin rejuvenation. Depending on your personal needs, there are a lot of options available for you!
