Film Screenings

First things first, we're shaking up our regular programming a bit. Everyone seems to be hosting special screenings this weekend, so we thought it deserved its own category. Pass the popcorn.

Thursday:

  • 5:30 p.m. - "Reparations" with UA Little Rock at the William H. Bowen School of Law
  • 6 p.m. - "Papaw Land" with the Arkansas Cinema Society at Ron Robinson Theater
  • 6 p.m. - "Iron Jawed Angels" in conjunction with the exhibit "Women’s Voices, Women’s Votes, Women’s Rights" at the Clinton Presidential Center

Friday, Jan. 27 

Electric Avenue: The '80s MTV Experience at The Hall // You hear that? That's the sound of sweet nostalgia. This touring group brings the house down with "a musical journey spanning both sides of 1985." Showtime is 8 p.m. Learn more here. Saturday, Jan. 28

Argenta Reading Series with the Vanderslices at Argenta United Methodist Church // This monthly Argenta meetup connects writers directly with their audience by inviting both into an intimate space. This month, Stephanie and John Vanderslices — both authors and writing teachers — will present their work to the crowd. The night starts with wine at 6:30 p.m., and readings start at 7 p.m. Learn more here.

 

Saturday & Sunday, Jan. 28 & 29

Prokofiev's "Romeo & Juliet" at the Robinson Center // Next up in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks Series (and first up for 2023) is this show featuring the talents of harpist Alisa Coffey, direction of Akiko Fujimoto and music of Prokofiev, Beethoven and Pierné.
