Thursday, Nov. 10

Art & Soul at the Easterseals Center for Training & Wellness // Eat your heart out, Picasso. At this annual art show hosted by and benefiting Easterseals Arkansas, you can purchase the artwork of both professional artists and Easterseals clients, all while you enjoy delicious eats and libations. “The Glory of Brass” at UA-PTC CHARTS // The Little Rock Wind Symphony is getting cozy for the season with this free program showcasing chamber music for brass instruments, complete with Arkansas composer Florence Price’s “Octet for Brass and Piano.” Showtime is 7 p.m. Learn more here.

 

Friday, Nov. 11

Veterans Day in the Metro // If you’re looking for a way to commemorate this national holiday, you have a few options, including a ceremony at Lake Willastein Park hosted by the Maumelle Lions Club and a 5K starting at the Arkansas State Capitol. There are also specials for vets at many area businesses, so check your favorites’ social media pages to make plans. 

Second Friday Art Night in Downtown Little Rock // Bring on the 2FAN. It’s time for the monthly roundup of downtown businesses opening their doors for an after-hours gallery walk. Highlights this month include artist/author spotlights at The Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square, a jewelry pop-up at Bella Vita and live music at the Old State House and Historic Arkansas Museum. 2FAN runs 5-8 p.m. Learn more here

Good Night: Suits & Sneakers at Chenal Country Club // More like great night. This annual event is back and celebrating with food, drinks, auctions and music, all to raise funds for Community Connections’ free programs for children with special needs. It all starts at 6:30 p.m. Learn more here.

 

Saturday, Nov. 12

America Recycles Day at the Little Rock Zoo // Let’s show Mother Earth some love. This meetup invites you to bring out your hard-to-recycle items for proper collection. Think: confidential documents, electronics and even your old bikes, which will go to Recycle Bikes for Kids. Just head to the east parking area at the corner of Zoo Drive and South Monroe. America’s Top Dogs at Bark Bar // You’ve probably seen the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile making the rounds through town this week, but it has no greater duty than helping host this super-cute showdown. The day consists of contests like best underbite, fastest tail wag, best costume and much more. It all starts at 10 a.m. Learn more here.

Forever Thrifted Vintage Swap Meet at the Main Street Pocket Park // Secondhand, top tier. Local thrift pro La Rosa Antigua is continuing this monthly market (its last outdoor event of the year) with vintage clothing vendors, music, art, food trucks and more. Back to the ’80s Trivia Pub Crawl in Downtown Little Rock // We’ll take “Doc and Marty” for 500. Kicking off at Dugan’s Pub, this themed crawl traverses four bars while testing your knowledge, all to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House. Full ’80s wardrobe very much encouraged. Foam Glow 5K at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds // You glow, girl. This race will leave the light on for you for 3.1 miles of glow-in-the-dark fun and suds. Reigning Cats & Dogs at Next Level Events // Things are getting adorable at the train station. The Humane Society of Pulaski County’s annual fundraiser is back with a night of entertainment, auctions, food and drinks. It starts at 7 p.m. Learn more here.

Sunday Funday at Rusty Tractor Vineyards // Sunday scaries? We don’t know her. Patio hangs and food trucks (The Prickly Pickle returns) await at the vineyard’s Sunset Lodge, plus beer, wine, cocktails and live music by Christine DeMeo. Stop by noon – 4 p.m. Learn more here.

“Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto” at the Robinson Center // Next up in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks Series is this show featuring the talents of violinist Geneva Lewis, direction of Stephen Mulligan and music of Mendelssohn, Sibelius and a newly commissioned piece by James Lee III.
