Men on a Mission 2022: Scott Stern, M.D.

BEST CAREER MOMENT SO FAR
Being present for the growth of CARTI and the shift toward treatment in underserved areas of the state. Treating cancer patients where they are has been a game changer for the people of Arkansas.

HOW I KNEW THIS WAS MY PASSION
I always knew I wanted to be a doctor; I was always interested in cancer. I think that the first time I operated with my mentor James Suen, I really felt that this was going to be my calling.

NONPROFIT I WISH MORE PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT
Methodist Family Health is an extraordinary organization working with young people with behavioral issues that oftentimes fall through the cracks of society.

ONE THING I WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT MY COMPANY
CARTI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. There is absolutely NO physician ownership. All profits go directly back into the organization in order to help the patients that we are treating.

WHAT KEEPS ME MOTIVATED
My patients and the challenges they face during and after their treatment for head and neck cancer.
